Up to Jerusalem – July 2007

"Come to a place ... to a moment in time ...To a God-encounter in Jerusalem!"

It is with those words that Pastor Jack Hayford has been inviting our Foursquare family to Jerusalem for an unprecedented, first ever, International Convention gathering in Jerusalem, Israel. Over 2,500 from our Foursquare Family around the world will be joining in Jerusalem over the next two weeks for this amazing gathering.

There is no place on earth like Jerusalem, and no land in the world like Israel!

Jerusalem is the one city where God has said, "I will put My Name there."

Israel is the one land which God has uniquely described as "My land."

We are "ascending to the mountain of God"--to ancient Zion,

and for four days Israel's Convention Center will be filled with praise, worship and the revelation of God's Word.

My excitement has known no bounds over the last year or so as preparations have been being put in place for this time. It has been a long dream of mine, and one I know shared by Pastor Jerry as well, to regularly lead groups to the Land I know and love so well. I am honored to be going with my wife and 16 other friends on this Pilgrimage “Up To Jerusalem”.

But we’re not going alone. And we’re not going just for ourselves. This trip is an intercessory & prophetic journey, and we go with a sense of calling and mandate from the King to be a presence and a voice in the Land “for such a time as this”. You carry that calling, whether you know it or not. As part of our Foursquare family you are going with us, whether you are there physically or not.

Will you go with us, “up to Jerusalem”, in heart and spirit?

We have created this blog as a means for you to "go up with us" to Jerusalem! Every team member will have access to the site, and hopefully everyone will post and upload pictures. I don't think any of us are expert bloggers, so the blog should be a fun mixture of styles, pics, and ideas.

I am keenly aware of the many of you who seriously wanted to be with us on this journey and were not able to for various reasons. Rest assured, this is a trip that we want to do every 2 or 3 years, and that there will be another opportunity! And know for certain that your desire to go was not idle whimsy, but was rather the Spirit’s prompting. I invite each of you to take that desire and make it reality by going with us, “Up To Jerusalem”, in spirit, heart, and prayer... and if you desire, by checking in to this blog! He is doing amazing things…
